Participation

St. Philip the Apostle School Drama Club is open to student in 4th through 8th Grade. Each year the drama club produces two shows, one in the fall and one in the spring. All prospective cast and crew members must go through the participation and audition process. The start of this process is a parent meeting usually held in September for the fall production and February for the spring production. An announcement for the parent meeting will go home in the school newsletter and sent out to individual classes via email. If you ever have any questions regarding the process please reach out to Ms. Natalie.

Ways to Participate

Cast

All interested students who have good standing in their classes will be invited to audition and will be cast in the production. Not everyone may receive a speaking role. We aim to assign roles based on the best fit for the character. In addition to performance suitability, we also take into account behavior, attitude, and commitment. Your ability to manage the rehearsal schedule and your conduct in previous productions will influence casting decisions for upcoming shows.

Crew

Being part of the crew requires hard work, attention to detail, and a willingness to contribute behind the scenes without much recognition. If you take pride in making a production run smoothly, enjoy responsibility, and are ready to put in the effort, the crew is for you. Priority will be given to those who have demonstrated strong work ethic and commitment in previous productions. Crew options are: Stage Manager, Sound Tech, Lighting Tech, Props, Costumes, Backstage Tech, and House Crew.
