Some of the next rehearsals are dedicated strictly to character development. This is a chance to get to know your character, their personality and special qualities. Really you need to get inside their head!
Some of you have the opportunity to be a little creative with your characters because the script does not specifically spell out who they are. For example, the little girls in the script are described simply as fellow classmates and children Anne’s age. This does not make their part less important. On the contrary, this is the perfect opportunity to add depth to our play by creating dynamic characters. Is your little girl rich or poor, nice or mean, happy or sad? Does she have siblings and what is her name? Most importantly, how does she react to the action in the play?
There are different opportunities for each cast member to make their character their own and get inside their head. Please come to rehearsal prepared to discover your character and embrace their personality.
